Make purchases in Shop

You can browse products on the Shop app, shop.com, or through agentic shopping experiences such as the Shop app for ChatGPT. When shopping on the Shop app or website, you can pay for orders by using Shop Pay. While browsing products, you can add items to your cart by selecting Add to cart. When you've finished adding items to your cart, you can continue to checkout.

When you discover products through agentic shopping experiences, you might be directed to the store's website to complete your purchase, or you might be able to review and approve the purchase through Shop, depending on the experience.

Considerations before you check out on Shop

In the Shop app, your cart can contain items from more than one store. When it does, you can check out from each store separately, or from all of the stores together at one time. On shop.com, you can check out from only one store at a time.

In the Shop app, you need to check out from each store separately in the following cases:

• Your cart contains items priced in more than one currency.
• Your cart directs you to a store's website to complete your purchase.
• Your payment method requires extra verification, such as Apple Pay, or you want to pay for your order in installments.

If a store has physical locations, then you can pick up your order instead of having it shipped. When a pickup location is available, product pages display Available at with a location name or the number of locations where in-store pickup is available, and you can select a pickup option at checkout. The nearest city locations are based on the default shipping address in your account settings.

Check out from one store

You can make a purchase from a single Shop store in the Shop app or on shop.com.

Steps:

1. From the Shop app or on shop.com, select the icon.
2. In the section for the Shop store you want to check out from, select Continue to checkout.
3. Select your shipping or pickup option:
   • To ship your order:
     1. Select Ship.
     2. In the Ship to section, select a saved address or select + Use a different address to enter a new shipping address.
     3. In the Shipping section, select a shipping method.
   • To pick up your order from a physical location:
     1. Select Pickup.
     2. In the Location section, select the location that you want to pick up from.
4. Select your payment plan and method:
   1. If a Plan section is displayed, then select an available payment plan.
   2. In the Payment section, select a saved payment method or select Pay another way to add a new payment method.
5. Optional: Apply any gift cards or discount codes to your order.
6. Select Pay now to complete your purchase.

After you complete checkout, your order is displayed in the Orders tab of Shop. After the store provides a tracking number for your order, you can track the delivery using Shop.

Check out from multiple stores at one time

When your cart in the Shop app contains items from more than one store, you have the option to purchase products from all of those stores together in one session. Checkout from multiple Shop stores is available only in the Shop app.

When you check out from all the stores together, the checkout for each store is displayed one after the other. You select your shipping or pickup method for each store's order. You can use a different payment method for each store's order, and you select Pay now only one time to pay for all of the orders. Shipping costs, taxes, discounts, and gift cards apply to each store's order separately. Your Shop Cash balance is applied to the orders one at a time until your balance is used up.

When your cart is eligible, a Check out all option is available in the Shop app. To check out from all the stores in your cart at one time, your Shop Pay account needs at least one saved payment method and one saved shipping address.

Steps:

1. From the Shop app, select the icon.
2. Select Check out all.
3. Select your shipping or pickup option for each store's items:
   • To ship your order:
     1. Select Ship.
     2. In the Ship to section, select a saved address or select + Use a different address to enter a new shipping address.
     3. In the Shipping section, select a shipping method.
   • To pick up your order from a physical location:
     1. Select Pickup.
     2. In the Location section, select the location that you want to pick up from.
4. In the Payment section for each store's items, select a saved payment method or select Pay another way to add a new payment method.
5. Optional: Apply any gift cards or discount codes to your order.
6. Select Pay now.

After you check out from multiple Shop stores at one time, you receive a separate order confirmation from each store. Each order is displayed in the Orders tab of Shop separately.

If an order from one store can't be completed at checkout, then the orders from the other stores are still placed. You can correct the details for that order and submit it again, or remove it from your cart.

Purchase a subscription product

When available, you can purchase a subscription product on the Shop app or shop.com. Some stores might offer special pricing when you subscribe to a product.

After you subscribe to a product, you can manage your subscription from your Shop account or through the online store that you purchased from.

Steps:

1. From a product page on the Shop app or shop.com, select the Subscribe or Subscribe & save option.
2. Optional: If multiple delivery frequency options are available, then select a delivery frequency from the drop-down menu.
3. Do either of the following:
   • To complete your purchase immediately, select Subscribe now, and then select Continue to checkout.
   • To add the product to your cart and check out at a later time, select Add to cart, and then follow the steps to check out from a single store or from multiple stores at one time.
4. Follow the prompts at checkout to complete your purchase.
