Shopping with confidence on Shop
Stores that sell products in the Shop app must meet certain trust, safety, and fraud-prevention requirements. These requirements and safeguards help protect you when you shop. To shop with confidence, review the following best practices before you buy, and learn where to report a store if you have concerns.
Best practices before making a purchase on Shop
Review the following best practices before making a purchase through Shop:
- Check the store's product reviews and star ratings to learn about other customers' experiences.
- Review the store's shipping, return, and refund policies, so you know what to expect.
- Be cautious if a product's price seems far lower than you expect. Consider reporting the store to Shop if you suspect potential fraud.
- Protect your account by setting up Shop Pay security features, such as passkeys and verification codes.
- If an order displays in Shop that you don't recognize, then report the incorrect order information.
To understand Shop's role in your shopping experience, review the Shopify Consumer Terms of Service.
Reporting a store
If you're concerned that a store might be engaging in scams or fraudulent activity, or a store has misleading or inappropriate content, then you can report it. To report a store or get help with an order, refer to Reporting an order issue and getting help.
To report a specific piece of content, such as a shoppable post or video review, rather than a whole store, refer to Report content in the Shop app.
