Earn Shop Cash

Earn Shop Cash

You earn Shop Cash at a rate of 1% on eligible orders made with Shop Pay and Shop Pay Installments. You might also have the opportunity to earn extra Shop Cash through promotional events in the Shop app. To earn Shop Cash, your order must meet the following requirements:

  • You pay for your order using Shop Pay or Shop Pay Installments in the Shop app or through an online store.
  • The online store is located in the United States or Canada, uses USD or CAD as their store currency, and accepts Shop Pay.
  • You select a shipping method, and your order isn't for local pickup.
  • The purchase doesn't include gift cards, subscriptions, or digital products.
  • The payment card you used has a United States or Canadian billing address.
  • The store isn't a wholesale store.

If your order is eligible to earn Shop Cash, then a banner displays at checkout. You only earn Shop Cash on the portion of the order you pay for with Shop Pay or Shop Pay Installments. You can't opt out of earning Shop Cash.

Important restrictions and conditions

  • Non-transferable: Shop Cash cannot be manually added to your balance or to orders that have already been processed.
  • Unique offers: Offers including Shop Cash are personalized for each Shop user and may not be universally available.
  • Account limitations: You cannot merge or transfer Shop Cash between different accounts, or recover Shop Cash from deleted accounts.
  • Expiration: Expired Shop Cash cannot be recovered and may lead to a negative Shop Cash balance if associated with a refunded order.

Using Shop Cash

  • Redeeming Shop Cash: You can redeem Shop Cash only on the Shop app and Shop on the web. Refer to the Redeeming Shop Cash article to learn more about order requirements for redeeming Shop Cash.
  • Negative balances: To earn or redeem Shop Cash, ensure that any other Shop Pay account you own doesn't have a negative Shop Cash balance.
  • Refunds: Refer to the Refunds on Shop Cash orders article to learn how refunds impact your Shop Cash balance.
  • Eligibility at checkout: During checkout, if your order is eligible to use Shop Cash, it will appear as a payment option. If not eligible, Shop Cash won't appear.
