Set up a Shop Passkey

You can sign in to your Shop account using passkeys as an alternative to SMS or email verification. Passkeys let you use face or fingerprint recognition, or a PIN to quickly and securely sign you in to Shop. You can use your Shop passkey when you do the following:

• Sign in to Shop on https://shop.app/ using a web browser.
• Check out using Shop Pay
• Follow an online store on Shop
• Sign up for email marketing
• Log in to your customer account

To set up a passkey, you need to have a verified Shop Pay account. Learn more about setting up Shop Pay. You can set up a passkey in the Shop app, as well as on a web browser on https://shop.app.

Create a passkey for Shop in the Shop app

You can create a passkey for Shop in the Shop app.

Steps:

1. From the Shop app in the tab, tap the Account icon, which is your profile picture or initials.

2. Tap Sign in & security.

3. Tap Add in the Passkeys section. If you don't have a passkey, then tap Add passkey instead.

4. Follow the prompts on your device to verify your identity and create your passkey.

You can view your new passkey in the Passkeys section.

Create a passkey for Shop using a web browser

You can create a passkey for Shop using a web browser.

Steps:

1. In a web browser, go to https://shop.app/, and then click Sign in.
2. Follow the prompts to sign in to your Shop account.
3. Click the Account icon, and then click Sign in & security.
4. Click Add in the Passkeys section. If you don't have a passkey, then click Add passkey instead.
5. Follow the prompts in your browser to verify your identity and create your passkey.

You can view your new passkey in the Passkeys section.
